To get there maybe users can rate or vote on new ideas or suggestion that seem to be well needed by the community. If i see a good idea on here i want a way to be able to like it or rate it up or something which can help get it recognized in the community as most needed. From there a way to take action on them can help make it happen.

the post gets the more noticeable it becomes within its category - we will re-structure the forum topics a little so as to have a more clear section for feature suggestions and feedback, but currently, you can search around the categories and like the posts you think are good ideas for the team to implement.
